Julian has performed his silly, silly magic shows for thousands of children around South East Queensland. When performing at the many childcare centres and daycare groups over the years he has found this one thing above all contributes to a really successful magic show:

By this he means put the 3 yr olds and 4 year olds up the front. These are kids who will really get the comedy and the magic so they will be the core group Julian focuses on. The 2 year olds would be as happy with a piece of paper to crinkle up for half an hour so put them behind the three and four year olds. They will still see everything but they can mentally wander in and out as they please. Should they decide to physically wander then the staff are closer to them and don't have to walk in front of the audience to deal with any issues.

The one year olds sit in high chairs up the back. Julian often sees them banging their hands in delight at the colour and noise and fun.

I was put onto this idea by another Childcare Entertainer named Magic Mike. I have used it since and it does make for a much smoother running show.
