Easy To Do Magic Tricks
A Fun Way To End Your First Mini Magic Show
Of all the easy to do magic tricks it really doesn't get much easier than this. Then why is this one of the most popular tricks that I teach people? I reckon because it's FUN.
A couple of points here:
As simple as it is, it still mystifies nine out of ten people as to how it works.
This is a PERFECT trick to end your mini magic show with as it ends with you taking a bow. Why is this important? Because you need to tell your audience, to signal them in some way that your show is over. If you are a singer on stage you simply wave an walk off stage. It's pretty obvious to the audience that the show is over. Magicians, especially those doing close up magic to small groups doesn't have that luxury.
So here's a way to smoothly leave your audience. Do the routine as I show you in the video then after the last 'bow' say (in your best posh actor's voice), "If you'll excuse us we have another show to rush to."
Here's another great idea that a student showed me. If you turn the plastic strip horizontal and make it curl up it looks like Mr Plastic is doing sit ups or crunches. You can say something like 'he's working on his six pack'.
Sometimes I give these out at schools after shows when I am teaching the kids tricks. That's ok until there are 500 kids in the audience. I have to sit up the night before with a pair of scissors, put a DVD on and cut away.
