Brisbane Kids Party Magician
ANIMAL FREE shows

STOP! Read this before booking a magician with live animals for your show.

Yes, I'm a kids party magician who doesn't use live animals - one of the few in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. Why? Consider this...

To make a rabbit make a startling appearance in the show they need to be produced from something that that seems small or unlikely to even fit an animal. Take this as a given that they are held in a small dark cramped secret compartment somewhere in the magician's gear. In big air conditioned theatres or shopping centres this is ok. At a home birthday party there usually isn't that luxury. Now I'm in no way suggesting any Brisbane party magician sets out to mistreat animals (in fact I've witnessed just the opposite)

BUT

the reality is they can't help but cause a level of suffering for the animals, simply because SE Queensland is TOO HOT. Look, 9 out of 10 shows I am a sodden mess by the end. The temperatures are often 28 to 30 degrees for humans outside in fresh air. In a small, poorly ventilated box where the animals own body heat has no chance of escaping the temperatures get considerably higher.

Would you lock your child in a dark box on a hot Qld summer day? I'm guessing your answer is no. Then why do it to an animal?

Your child will not miss out by not seeing a rabbit for a few minutes. If you really want animals, book a baby farm animal petting zoo for your party. I feel very strongly about this. Please feel free to call me on 0408 827 974 if you need to discuss this further.

NOTE: I have at times thought of getting a rabbit as it is a terrific marketing ploy for magicians but every HOT day brings me to my senses. Besides if looking at a rabbit is advertised as the highlight of the magic show, what does that say about the rest of that kids party magician show?

On a lesser note, you don't have to worry about the kid with the allergies either.
