Magic Quiz Show

The magic quiz show is different to most tricks in that you present it as a game. Since you will never even mention the word magic, nobody is suspecting that you are trying to do anything sneaky. This proves to be perfect misdirection that lets you use your sneaky magic utility prop right under their very noses.

To do the magic quiz show you are going to need the Magic Force Bag that we learnt how to make back in video #68 at Julian's Magician School. Once you have that, you will need to print out the question and answer sheets. Just download them. The download button is below the video.

When you look at the question sheet, you will find 20 questions. A quick read through and you will quickly see that the questions fall into two distinct categories: ridiculously hard and ridiculously easy. The magic force bag that you have constructed in about 30 seconds using the plastic sandwich bags enables you to determine which of your two teams will get the easy questions and ultimately be the CLEAR winners, and which team gets the almost impossible to answer questions which of course, make them the CLEAR losers.

The great thing about the magic quiz show is although the losing team will quickly realise they have been 'duped', they will have no idea as to how they have been 'duped'. Everything seems to be so fair and above board. That's the joy of thos magic force bag.

As long as you keep everything light hearted, you will have a huge amount of fun with this game. It is best that you build up the premise that this is the ultimate decider, once and for all, of whether boys are smarter than girls, or kids are smarter than adults, or one family are smarter than another family. Remember this is a FUN game.

One thing I have noticed is that kids under 10 years old don't get that it is a set up, and I've had some of them run off in tears because they felt humiliated that they couldn't answer the questions. So please be sensitive about this. Magic is such a good tool to build up people's self esteem. Please don't use it to tear someone down. They get hurt and you will look really stupid for doing it.

So you have two teams, yourself as the host who conducts the quiz, and two more independant people. One will be the person to read the selected question, the other will have the answer sheet for verification. It is best to have one person from either team for these jobs.
