It's so much more than just teaching tricks ... It's about tooling up kids with life skills. Not only do they learn some great tricks - so they can feel confident to participate in impromptu talent contests or ease an awkward social moment - but they now have their invisible toolbag with things like resilience, patience, ability to follow instructions, public speaking skills. These are all qualities that will make their schooling easier.

This 8 lesson in-school program teaches students this core message: Magicians do tricks to create illusions to trigger feelings in their audience.

• Two new tricks are introduced every lesson. Students get to experience magic hands on. All tricks they learn can be performed with everyday objects.

• Students learn the principles behind these tricks. Often these principles are science and maths based. They also learn how they can be affected by these same principles outside of the school eg. deception used by the advertising industry.

• Students focus on the positive emotions they can invoke with their tricks and understand how to avoid provoking negative feelings. Character building messages of respect, resilience and confidence are continually reinforced.

Having a magic teacher at your school is fun! Students LOVE the lessons and the lunchtime card trick workshops for those students who are really keen.

You will see improvement in your students' abilities to stand in front of a group and present a performance / oral presentation. All the tricks they learn are easy to learn and do. Those students who may regularly need extra classroom help are delighted when they find they can do it as well as the next person. The 8-lesson program is ideally presented over eight weeks. This can be shortened or added on to to suit your needs. It is suitable for Years 3 - 7. A high school program is also available.
