"Can I Call You?"

This surprise card trick is super easy to do but will really surprise your audience. It requires you to gather a little information about them before you do the trick. The biggest reaction will always come from strangers or people you are not close to. The reason for this will be obvious to you soon.

As no technical card skills are required this makes this surprise card trick perfect to perform with a borrowed deck of cards. Anyone one who has spent months practising their subtle card moves will attest to how difficult it can be when you pick up someone elses's cards, especially ones that are dog-eared and tatty and clagged together. You could use 'ANY' deck of cards for this trick, no matter their condidtion, as long as you can read the indices.

Watch the video and you will see that the surprise is that you somehow know the audience member's phone number. You reveal this to them at the end of the trick when they think the card trick has finished. They are actually looking at the cards, with their own phone number staring them in the face, and it is only when you point it out to them that they see it. This is precisely what makes this trick SO STRONG. It's almost like one of those 3D pictures where you stare and stare then BOOM! the 3D picture sudddenly appears.

Now you will appreciate why this surprise card trick works best with people you are not close to, like your family members. family members and close ones will assume you know their phone number, and although the trick still works and will get a good laugh, it's nowhere near the reaction from strangers. With strangers, all of a sudden it has gone from being a card trick to being a mentalism type psychic revelation.

So how do you get someone's phone number? Well I'm going to leave that one up to you. Generally just quietly asking their friend earlier on will get you what you need.

Please don't worry about the '1' and '0' numbers in their phone number. Just use an ACE for the ONE and the TEN for their ZERO. You simply point to the cards as you recite their phone number. They get the point and in all the times I have done this, hardly anyone has ever dismissed the trick on this small technicality.
